Had a lovely Sunday off exploring Liverpool and spent Monday doing lots more dance orientated rehearsals, trying to get us in some sort of shape for our producer Martin who was coming to visit today.
We’ve moved into the big main performance area inside our converted tram shed, with the stage mapped out on the floor in lino. We bustled around doing a run of the whole show until Martin’s arrival for a proper run through at 4pm. It made me realise how much work we’ve done over the last 5 days – and how much more we have to do. Mark (who plays the villain, Fleshcreep) wins first prize as the production’s biggest swot for being “off book” (not using his script), with Emma (who plays the Princess) not far behind. I’ve no idea what Martin made of it all, and I’m not sure I want to know to be honest. He spends the whole of panto season travelling up and down the country watching all the shows that UK Productions are doing. I think they have 11 or something ridiculous, so that man must know a good panto when he sees one.
Got quite excited when the giant made its arrival today. Didn’t think we’d actually have a proper walking talking one clomping round the place. Want to show you a photo, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise if you come and see the show, so I won’t.
